Rob Smith, a graduate of Temple University in Jazz Performance and American History, and Rutgers-Newark University in Jazz History (M.A.), maintains a highly successful private music teaching practice in the Cheltenham area as well as teaching at Rutgers-Newark University, Camden County College, Bucks County Community College. After studying with jazz legend Joe Morello, he has developed a career as a well known performer, recording commercial jingles, performing in Jazz/Big Band ensembles, and working with highly regarded artists Mike Montrey, Compost, and The Helots. He is currently sole proprietor of Smithson Music, an organization that provides music education as well as original compositions to area school districts.
